The Warm Ups

The World Cup warm up matches provide a glimpse of what and what not to expect. The West Indian batting collapse yesterday was more due to lethargy than to any devils in the pitch. They will do well when the big thing starts. Australia put down England's 196 easily, with Gilchrist and Watson doing well. I will be watching Ryan Ten Doeschate of the Netherlands very closely. The South African born allrounder of Dutch descent, has a lot of potential. One example could be when he uprooted the distracted Sehwag's middle stump, one of his five wickets. New Zealand has been both hot and cold, while Bangladesh has shown potential. The South Africans, Pakistani's and Sri Lankans have maintained a low profile, a good thing before a major event.

I am getting bored with these insignificant events.. can't wait for the real thing to start....
